0. Inleiding¶
Het doel van deze licentie is het maken van een handleiding, tekstboek of ander functioneel en nuttig document “vrij” in de zin van vrijwilligers: om iedereen te verzekeren van de effectieve vrijheid om het te kopiëren en opnieuw te verspreiden, met of zonder wijzigingen, ofwel commercieel of niet-commercieel. Ten tweede bewaart deze licentie voor de auteur en uitgever een manier om waardering voor hun werk te krijgen, terwijl ze niet aansprakelijk beschouwd kunnen worden voor wijzigingen gemaakt door anderen.
Deze licentie is een soort van “copyleft”, wat betekent dat afgeleide werken van het document zelf ook vrij moeten zijn op dezelfde manier. Het vult de GNU General Public License aan, die ontworpen is als een copyleft licentie voor vrije software.
We hebben deze licentie ontworpen om het te gebruiken voor handleidingen voor vrije software, omdat vrije software vrije documentatie nodig heeft: een vrij programma zou moeten komen met handleidingen die dezelfde vrijheid levert die de software levert. Maar deze licentie is niet beperkt tot softwarehandleidingen; het kan gebruikt worden voor alle tekstuele werk, ongeacht het onderwerp en of het wordt gepubliceerd als een gedrukt boek. We bevelen deze licentie in principe aan voor werken waarvan het doel instructie of naslag is.
1. Toepasbaarheid en definities¶
Deze licentie is van toepassing op elke handleiding of ander werk, in elk medium, dat een notitie bevat geplaatst door de houder van het copyright, die vertelt dat het gedistribueerd kan worden onder de bepalingen van deze licentie. Zo’n notitie geeft een wereldwijde, royalty-vrije licentie, ongelimiteerd in duur, aam dat werk onder de hierin bepaalde condities. Het onderstaande “Document verwijst naar zo’n handleiding of werk. Elk lid van het publiek is een licentie-ontvanger en er wordt naar verwezen als “u”. U accepteert de licentie als u het werk kopieert, modificeert of distribueert op een manier die toestemming vereist onder wet op het copyright.
Een “Gewijzigde versie” van het document betekent elk werk dat het document of een gedeelte ervan bevat, ofwel letterlijk gekopieerd of met wijzigingen en/of vertaald in een andere taal.
Een “Secundaire sectie” is een benoemde appendix of een inleidende sectie van het Document die uitsluitend handelt over de relatie van de uitgevers of auteurs van het Document tot het algemene onderwerp van het Document (of tot verwante zaken) en niets bevat dat direct binnen dat algemene onderwerp zou kunnen vallen. (Als het Document dus gedeeltelijk een wiskundeboek is, mag een Secundaire sectie geen wiskunde verklaren). De relatie kan een kwestie zijn van historische connectie met het onderwerp of met verwante zaken of van juridische, commerciële, filosofische, ethische of politieke standpunten ten aanzien daarvan.
De “Onveranderlijke secties” zijn bepaalde Secundaire secties waarvan de titels worden aangeduid als Onveranderlijke secties in de kennisgeving dat het Document onder deze licentie wordt vrijgegeven. Als een sectie niet voldoet aan de bovenstaande definitie van Secundair, mag deze niet als onveranderlijk worden aangemerkt. Het Document mag geen Onveranderlijke secties bevatten. Als het Document geen Onveranderlijke secties identificeert, zijn er geen.
De “omslagteksten” zijn bepaalde korte tekstpassages die, als vooromslagteksten of achteromslagteksten, worden vermeld in de mededeling dat het Document onder deze licentie wordt vrijgegeven. Een vooromslagtekst mag maximaal 5 woorden bevatten en een achteromslagtekst maximaal 25 woorden.
Een “Transparante” kopie van het Document is een machineleesbare kopie, weergegeven in een formaat waarvan de specificaties beschikbaar zijn voor het grote publiek, die geschikt is voor eenvoudige revisie van het document met algemene tekstbewerkers of (voor afbeeldingen die uit pixels bestaan) algemene tekenprogramma’s of (voor tekeningen) een algemeen verkrijgbare tekenbewerker, en die geschikt is voor invoer in tekstopmakers of voor automatische vertaling naar een verscheidenheid aan formaten die geschikt zijn voor invoer in tekstopmakers. Een kopie gemaakt in een anderszins transparant bestandsformaat waarvan de opmaak, of de afwezigheid van opmaak, is ingericht om latere wijziging door lezers te verhinderen of te ontmoedigen, is niet transparant. Een afbeeldingsformaat is niet transparant indien het wordt gebruikt voor een substantiële hoeveelheid tekst. Een kopie die niet “Transparant” is, wordt “Ondoorzichtig” genoemd.
Voorbeelden van geschikte formaten voor transparante kopieën zijn onder andere gewone ASCII zonder opmaak, Texinfo-invoerformaat, LaTeX-invoerformaat, SGML of XML met een openbaar beschikbare DTD, en standaardconforme, eenvoudige HTML, PostScript of PDF, ontworpen voor menselijke bewerking. Voorbeelden van transparante afbeeldingsformaten zijn PNG, XCF en JPG. Ondoorzichtige formaten zijn onder andere bedrijfseigen formaten die alleen kunnen worden gelezen en bewerkt door bedrijfseigen tekstverwerkers, SGML of XML waarvoor de DTD en/of verwerkingshulpmiddelen niet algemeen beschikbaar zijn, en de machinegegenereerde HTML, PostScript of PDF die door sommige tekstverwerkers uitsluitend voor uitvoerdoeleinden wordt geproduceerd.
The “Title Page” means, for a printed book, the title page itself, plus such following pages as are needed to hold, legibly, the material this License requires to appear in the title page. For works in formats which do not have any title page as such, “Title Page” means the text near the most prominent appearance of the work’s title, preceding the beginning of the body of the text.

Copying with changes limited to the covers, as long as they preserve the title of the Document and satisfy these conditions, can be treated as verbatim copying in other respects.
If the required texts for either cover are too voluminous to fit legibly, you should put the first ones listed (as many as fit reasonably) on the actual cover, and continue the rest onto adjacent pages.
If you publish or distribute Opaque copies of the Document numbering more than 100, you must either include a machine-readable Transparent copy along with each Opaque copy, or state in or with each Opaque copy a computer-network location from which the general network-using public has access to download using public-standard network protocols a complete Transparent copy of the Document, free of added material. 4. Wijzigingen¶

If the Modified Version includes new front-matter sections or appendices that qualify as Secondary Sections and contain no material copied from the Document, you may at your option designate some or all of these sections as invariant. To do this, add their titles to the list of Invariant Sections in the Modified Version’s license notice. These titles must be distinct from any other section titles.

6. Collections of Documents¶

7. Aggregation with Independent Works¶

11. Relicensing¶
“Massive Multiauthor Collaboration Site” (or “MMC Site”) means any World Wide Web server that publishes copyrightable works and also provides prominent facilities for anybody to edit those works. A public wiki that anybody can edit is an example of such a server. A “Massive Multiauthor Collaboration” (or “MMC”) contained in the site means any set of copyrightable works thus published on the MMC site.
“CC-BY-SA” means the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 license published by Creative Commons Corporation, a not-for-profit corporation with a principal place of business in San Francisco, California, as well as future copyleft versions of that license published by that same organization.
“Incorporate” means to publish or republish a Document, in whole or in part, as part of another Document.
An MMC is “eligible for relicensing” if it is licensed under this License, and if all works that were first published under this License somewhere other than this MMC, and subsequently incorporated in whole or in part into the MMC, (1) had no cover texts or invariant sections, and (2) were thus incorporated prior to November 1, 2008.
The operator of an MMC Site may republish an MMC contained in the site under CC-BY-SA on the same site at any time before August 1, 2009, provided the MMC is eligible for relicensing.
